How my journey began

Thanks for stopping by. Believe it or not, this is the most challenging section to write. I am an introvert who likes being around people, especially family and close friends. I admit that I am slightly addicted to checklists and spreadsheets. I love crossing things off my to-do list because it satisfies my task-oriented goals.

I enjoy working with kids, families, and individuals who have experienced trauma, life challenges, divorce, parenting issues, and loss and need help transiting, communicating, or setting healthy boundaries. I have always been fascinated with how some families thrive, and others don’t. My biological parents are still happily married, even though my dad was an officer in the military and had to travel a lot. Disagreements are a part of family life, but why does conflict bring some families close and tear others apart? Seeking answers to these questions lead me on a path of discovery and learning. My own experience of striving to become the best version of myself has empowered me to grow and develop as a therapist.

You may feel exhausted by parenting a strong-willed child or a rule breaker. Or you may be a parent who does not know how to connect with a child who lives inside their head or keeps things bottled up. If you wonder, “Where did this child come from,” I can help with that. Whether you feel the pressures of performing as a perfect parent or that you must thrive in a tornado without adequate shelter. I am here to help.

Do family gatherings mean disagreements, hurtful words, codependency, or pain on top of pain? If you are having problems in your relationships, I can help you. I am a certified family life educator and a licensed marriage family therapist. I have worked in the social science, education, non-profit, and private practice sectors for over ten years. Level two Gottman trained and a member of Relational Therapists of Dallas and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Rest assured, we can take the journey together. You do not have to walk this journey alone. Allow me to help.
